System Requirements

iOS Requirements

myCARI requires iOS 17.0 or later and is compatible with the following iPhone models:

  • iPhone 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11
  • iPhone XS, XS Max, XR
  • iPhone SE (2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation)

iPad Support

myCARI is also available on iPad devices running iPadOS 17.0 or later.

Device Specifications

  • Storage: Minimum 500 MB free space
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi or cellular connection required
  • Recommended: iOS 17.4+ for optimal performance

Apple Watch Integration

While there is no dedicated Apple Watch app, myCARI syncs the following data through Apple Health:

  • Workouts and activity metrics
  • Heart rate data
  • Sleep tracking
  • Fall detection alerts (requires Apple Watch)
Important:

Apple Health data originates exclusively from the iPhone where myCARI is installed. Family members cannot sync their health data through another person's device. If you switch devices, medical records will require re-authentication through Epic MyChart for security purposes.

Getting Started

Creating Your Account

  1. Download the App - Get myCARI from the App Store
  2. Choose Authentication - Sign up with Apple ID, Google, or email/password (minimum 6 characters)
  3. Verify Your Email - Check for verification email from verify@mlpipes.ai (required for HIPAA compliance)
  4. Accept Legal Agreements - Review and accept Terms of Service and HIPAA Authorization
  5. Select Interface Mode - Choose Wellness Mode or Care Mode
  6. Start Free Trial - Enjoy 30 days of full premium access

Interface Modes

Wellness Mode

Designed for ages 25-45 with detailed fitness metrics, comprehensive health tracking, and advanced analytics.

Care Mode

Optimized for ages 65+ with a simplified interface, larger text, high contrast elements, and streamlined navigation focused on essential health management.

Free Trial: Your 30-day trial provides full premium access without requiring payment information upfront. You'll receive reminders at 7, 3, and 1 day before your trial expires.

Medication Management

Keep track of all your medications with smart reminders and dose logging.

Adding Medications

  1. Go to the Medications tab
  2. Tap the + button
  3. Enter medication name, dosage, and form
  4. Set frequency and reminder times
  5. Save your medication

Logging Doses

Confirm doses through push notifications or manually log them in the app. View your adherence history and trends over time.

Vitals Tracking

Monitor your key health metrics in one place:

  • Blood Pressure - Track systolic/diastolic readings
  • Blood Glucose - Monitor levels with CGM integration
  • Weight - Track changes over time
  • Heart Rate - View resting and active rates
  • ECG - Record electrocardiogram data
  • Oxygen Saturation - Monitor SpO2 levels

Connecting Your Provider

  1. Go to Records tab → Connect Provider
  2. Search for your healthcare organization
  3. Sign in with your patient portal credentials
  4. Authorize myCARI to access your records

AI Health Coach

Get personalized health insights powered by artificial intelligence:

  • Morning Briefings - Daily health summary and reminders
  • Evening Summaries - Review your day's health activities
  • Meal Analysis - Take photos of meals for caloric and macronutrient breakdowns
  • Trend Monitoring - Identify patterns in your health data

Safety Features

Emergency SOS

Alert up to 5 emergency contacts via push notifications and SMS. Configure contacts in Settings → Emergency Contacts.

Fall Detection

Requires Apple Watch. When a fall is detected, you'll receive an alert to confirm you're okay. If no response, your emergency contacts are notified automatically.

Hospital Mode

Activate when hospitalized to increase sync frequency to every 4 hours, keeping your care team updated. Hospital Mode automatically expires after 7 days.

Inviting Care Team Members

For New Users

  1. Go to Care Team tab → Invite Member
  2. Enter their email address
  3. Select permission level
  4. They'll receive an email invitation
  5. They download the app and create an account
  6. Invitation is automatically accepted

For Existing Users

Existing myCARI users can accept invitations via:

  • Email link (click to accept)
  • 6-digit code entry in Profile → Join Care Team

Managing Multiple Accounts

Caregivers can view different individuals' health information using the Account Switcher:

  • Tap your profile icon to switch between accounts
  • A blue banner indicates whose data you're currently viewing
  • All actions are logged for compliance purposes

Care Team Members Are Free: People you invite to your care team never pay for myCARI access.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Account Issues

I didn't receive my verification email

Check your spam/junk folder for emails from verify@mlpipes.ai. Add this address to your contacts and request a new verification email from the app. Verification is required for HIPAA compliance before accessing health features.

How do I reset my password?

Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login screen. If you signed up with Apple or Google, you'll need to reset your password through those platforms instead.

Apple Health Syncing

My health data isn't syncing
  1. Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health
  2. Find myCARI and ensure all permissions are enabled
  3. Force close the app and reopen it
  4. Wait a few minutes for data to sync
Can family members share Apple Health data?

No, Apple Health data cannot be shared directly between devices. Each family member needs myCARI installed on their own iPhone. Use the Care Team feature to share health information with family members.

Medication Reminders

I'm not receiving medication reminders
  1. Verify notifications are enabled in Settings → Notifications → myCARI
  2. Check that myCARI is excluded from Do Not Disturb and Focus modes
  3. Confirm reminder times are set for each medication
  4. Restart the app if reminders still don't appear

Medical Records

I can't find my healthcare provider

Try searching with different variations of the name (e.g., "Mayo" vs "Mayo Clinic"). If your provider isn't listed, contact support@mlpipes.ai to request they be added.

"Connection Failed" error when connecting provider
  1. Verify your patient portal credentials are correct
  2. Confirm you can log into Epic MyChart directly
  3. Check if your provider requires additional verification
  4. Try again in a few minutes (server may be temporarily unavailable)

App Performance

The app keeps crashing
  1. Force close the app and reopen it
  2. Restart your iPhone
  3. Ensure you have at least 500 MB free storage
  4. Update to the latest app version
  5. If issues persist, reinstall the app (your data is backed up to the cloud)

Free Trial

Your 30-day free trial includes full access to all premium features. No payment information required to start. After 30 days, your trial automatically converts to a monthly subscription unless cancelled.

Check your subscription status anytime in Profile → Subscription. You'll receive email reminders at 7, 3, and 1 day before your trial expires.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through:

  • Profile → Subscription → Cancel
  • Email to support@mlpipes.ai
  • Apple ID Settings → Subscriptions

Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. Your data is preserved even after cancellation.

Refund Policy

Refunds may be issued for:

  • Technical malfunctions preventing app use
  • Accidental purchases (within 48 hours)
  • Billing errors
  • Service dissatisfaction (within 14 days)

Contact billing@mlpipes.ai with your account email, charge date, and reason. Expect a response within 2 business days.

Data Rights & Security

Your HIPAA Rights

As a myCARI user, you have the right to:

  • Access - View all your health information
  • Amend - Request corrections to your data
  • Export - Download your data in PDF or JSON format
  • Delete - Permanently remove your data
  • Restrict - Limit how your data is used

Data Export

Export your health data anytime:

  1. Go to Profile → Export Data
  2. Choose format (PDF for reading, JSON for transferring)
  3. Select date range
  4. Download or share your export

Security Measures

  • Encryption in Transit: TLS 1.3 for all data transmission
  • Encryption at Rest: AES-256 encryption for stored data
  • Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform with SOC 2 certification
  • Compliance: Business Associate Agreements with all vendors
